My Nurburgring Trip

[ame]http://youtu.be/fwxFJb94od8[/ame]

Rented a Race prepped car from Rent4Ring. Originally I had a gt86 rented how ever the Direct Injection failed (again) and so they have to give me a VW Scirocco.

The Ring is a addiction, I am actually going to be looking into moving to europe for maybe a year starting the end of this year. Its that good. Its not too technical but mainly its just lots of memorization. I only was able to complete 6 laps while my friend did 4 laps. My best timings were somewhere around 10:30 which I was happy with considering the penalty for crashing was 8000 Euro.

Is it always one car at a time? I kind of want to go to track days, but at the same time I'd prefer if I was on a track by myself, so I probably won't ever go to a track day event.

If they did that they'd be bankrupt, they'll put many cars on an open/track day, expect to get passed by a handful of Porsche's, BMW's, Audi's, Corvette's, Mustangs etc. The closest you'd get to an open track experience would be a driving school like Skip Barber where just about every car on track has an instructor to keep things nice and calm. Of course the real fun comes when you get your stuff together and your 86 blows by a couple Corvette's and Porsche's on your 'prius tires' proving that the biggest improvement you can make is the nut behind the wheel.

Rough estimate, renting out a track like Laguna Seca is at least $30k for the day.

Well my question was really about the Nurburgring since the way he puts it sounds like they do one at a time. I know the norm is always multiple cars which is why I don't want to go.

Then add a bunch of money to my cost estimate as it's a more desirable track with higher upkeep costs and my point stands, probably approaching if not exceeding 6 figures for the track all to yourself for a day. The rest of my post stands.

This is awesome and I am jealous. I told my manager (who lives in Germany) anytime he needs me over there, let me know. He knows I wanna drive the BurgerKing.

I didn't know there were so many damn manufacturer camoed cars being tuned at the Nurburgring. James May will not be happy about this.
