How Much Oil is Too Much?
I had my oil/filter changed at the dealership, and once home checked and it is about an eighth of an inch over the full line. Should I bother removing some, or is it ok? Thanks,

It'll be fine. Over-filling a smidge won't harm anything. If it's grossly overfilled, the crank and come in contact w/ the oil causing aeration, but that's usually only if it happens to be like an inch above the max fill line.

Agreed.
Dealership overfilled my car by an inch above the full mark on dipstick. I felt that was too high and had some oil removed. A tiny bit above the full mark is nothing to worry about. |

It's fine.
If anything, you need to add more.

Remember to take the lower marking for your oil level.
Also, would you be happier if it was an eighth of an inch oil before the fill line?

Not quite sure what you're saying. OTOH, sounds like I'm ok with a bit over full line. Thanks,

In the manual it states that when you check your oil, you'll get the front and back of the dipstick wet. The lower one is your oil level.

Make sure the car is on a level surface when you check the oil- it can make a big difference.
