NC - Annual inspection / emissions controls

Does anybody in NC, particularly in the Raleigh area have any advice with regards to aftermarket exhaust parts and annual inspection?

Do most of you swap on factory parts for inspection? Or just leave aftermarket parts installed and hope for the best?

Particularly interested in hearing from people with HFC front pipes, catless front pipes and/or catless headers.

Does the annual inspection include visual inspection for the existence of factory cats? Do they know how many are supposed to be there, do they know the difference between factory and high-flow aftermarket? What are the consequences for failure due to modification?

Any inspection centers that are particularly lax or particularly stringent?

I go to the jiffy lube on capital blvd, havent ever had issues with a full exhaust setup from the overpipe back. Catless front pipe. They shouldn't hassle you at all, you dont have to revert to stock to pass emissions unless something is setting off codes, oh but they will fail you for bad wiperblades or no turn signal lights in both front and back.

they only check for codes, atleast that's what they do here in charlotte. if you've removed any cats, make sure you have the tune to get rid of the CEL.

I had no issues with my catless header. They didn't even put the car on the lift. I don't remember them opening the hood.
