Case of RTFM.... (trunk release override) - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Was out at TMP yesterday with a small group and unloading everything out of the car (or so I thought), looking for the wheel lock key to check the wheel nuts and can't find it. Head out and run a few warmup laps and hear something from the trunk every time I turn left and right. Come back in and the trunk won't open and had to use the key. Found the wheel lock key sitting on the left side of the trunk. Couldn't figure out why the trunk refused to open at the track, got home took a closer look, maybe a fuse, nope. Pulled out the manual... well, never knew there was an override button to lock out the trunk release. Guess the wheel lock key just happened to bounce the right way and hit the override button.

Have to say, this car is awfully fun, might have to put in better brake fluid and maybe brakes as the brakes got a little soft at TMP. Just wished the seats were a little bit more comfortable as this is my only biggest complaint about this car.

PS. Did get the HPFP replaced on July 26th, so far, no crickets yet (running on Shell 91 but in reality I don't think it really matters).

thank you for this post. I thought when It happened to me last week that there was a problem . it was the beer cases sliding! THANKS!
