DIY Changing Cam Plate Racer X fabrication

DIY Changing Cam Plate Racer X fabrication.

Well, first you need to know if your cam plate is leaking oil. You can easily check by touching the bottom of your cam plate with your hand. The smell. It will smell like burnt oil. Also, visually checking it you can see the build up at the bottom or on your overpipe.

Installation time: 30mintues to 1 hour.

Tools needed.

A flat head or a pry bar. A towel. 12 mm socket.

Remove OEM bolts. They break off easy.

After they break off I suggest using by hand afterwards. The reason because you do not want the bolts to drop. Your 30 minute job will be an hour.

Pry the cam plate off. Use this point it will be easier.

Clean off the area.

I would suggest using brake cleaner. I sprayed the towel NOT directly on the area.

The new cam racer x fabrication cam plate

Prepare new cam plate. Add some oil around the rings just like a oil filter.

No sealant is required per instruction.

Install time.

Do by hand first.

TQ specification is 12 lbs.

Finished!

More information about the product here: http://racerxfabrication.com/products/fr-s_brz.html

Note: Other aftermarket cam plate install is similar. However, just check if the sealant is required with that brand.
