Road Trip Baby!!

Just got back from a week of road trip with our FR-S. Riverview, NB to Les Cedres, PQ, a week running around Montreal and back 2730.4 Kms, averaged 6.8L/100kms or 41.9IMPG. Noticed a couple of things, 1. got better mileage on the tanks of Petro-Canada Super94 than Shell V-Power 91 when I could find it(No 93 or 94 octane to be found in NB), the cost did barely justify the mileage gains, 2. This is to be the 2nd most comfortable long drive highway car I've owned, 3. One can get 2 full size suitcases, a medium cooler and a weeks worth of shopping into an FR-S. and most importantly 4.You guys in Montreal really need to stop tearing apart the 40 everytime I go up there. We saw a grand total of 4 FR-S & BRZs in a week of driving, these appear to still not be that common on the roads, it makes for interesting conversations everywhere you go.

sounds great! We will be doing the same for the 86expo this weekend, plus a week in PA, that's all day driving for me. I agree with the comfort, overall even though sports seats, its comfortable to sit in for longer than 3hrs, just a little stretch here and there.

I agree, I recently took a trip from central NJ to upstate Vermont. The seats were quite comfortable and my girlfriend even fell asleep on the way home (was cruising at a spirited pace with a cararra 4s). Even had a load of stuff in the back seat and my trunk looked like a Tetris game. Despite all that I was able to squeeze 38mpg out of the car with no cruise control and ac on the whole time even with some spirited driving here and there.

While the ride overall is hardly that of a Cadillac (meaning you feel every little crack and bump in the road)

Its one of the few cars I've taken a road trip in (over 3+ hours) and have not gotten out feeling like my lower back was pinched or sore.

I took a 12 hour trip in a friend of mines loaded Tahoe, and while it initially feels comfortable that thing completed wrecked my back. I literally had the seat warmers on the entire trip sweating my ass of because its the only thing that helped. IT was a smooth "comfortable" ride but it just tweaked my back which sounds strange..

The real test will be when me and my wife take our yearly ~9 hour drive down to Virginia in a few months. Have taken 3 different cars down there now, and every one of them sucked. We'll see how I feel about the comfort after that trip (Only try to stop twice for the entire trip)

I just did a trip to virginia for a track event at VIR with my track gear in the trunk. Zero issues. Only stopped for gas. I think that is actually the longest trip I took in this car so far.

Have fun.
