'14 Firestorm FRS Build Thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71248
Last image in the album is before the spacers went on.

Some info:

For the rear I went with the Eibach 30mm hub-centric wheel spacers, and for the front I went with the 25mm hub-centric wheel spacers.

For the switchbacks, I went with the OLM Switchback Turn Signals.

All purchased from FT86speedfactory.com

A little review on the spacers:

The car is already a beast with handling, even at stock, and as you all can see, I still am rocking the stock wheels and tires, so you can imagine my surprise when I took a corner with a warning sign to go 40 and I blew through it going 70 without even breaking a sweat. With the wider stance you can feel a definite difference in how turning feels. On top of that, that ugly fender gap between the edge of the wheel and tire and the fender is made to sit flush.

A little review on the switchbacks:

I was previously going to go with the Diode Dynamics Switchbacks but these were 30 bucks cheaper so I thought I'd give them a try... I'm blown away, they are nearly as bright as my fog lights are (Of which are from Diode Dynamics), and unlike the DD switchbacks, the wait for the switch from DRLs to turn signal are almost non-existant. That said, however, the wait from turn signals to DRLs does carry about a one second wait.. this is not a bad trade off though considering the DD wait is from DRLs to turn signal, rather than vice-versa for the OLM.

Final thoughts:

Overall, I'm gonna have to play with it a bit more over the next few weeks and make sure that my initial impressions are still the same, but so far I'm jazzed, and for less than 400 bucks and roughly 45 minutes of install time, I greatly increased the handling ability and also made this already sophisticated car even more so.

Stay tuned, as I still have a Raceseng Reduced Weight Crank Shaft Pulley, as well as a Eibach Sportline Lowering Spring kit to install, of which I will make another post and write-up.

Liking the build so far; great job!

FYI: I noticed that you have your plate number blocked out in the first set of pictures but not in these.

Thanks dude!! I got the car in may and I feel it's just starting to really come together! And yeah I knowwww, I felt blocking it out was kinda pointless as everyone on this forum is pretty chill, but I super appreciate the heads up! Thanks again for the compliments man!

No problems at all, I had a feeling it was intentional but wanted to make sure.
I've heard claims it's done to prevent dealers from finding a mod list in the event of warranty work but I assume it's just theories.

Did you cut the Rally Armor mud flaps at all?
In most pictures I've seen they look to stick out a bit more than in yours.
Your pictures are actually making me reconsider getting them again.

I definitely recommend some Michelin Pilot SS, easily one of the best mods for the car; gotta get rid of those Prius tires!

Also, what made you choose SC or Turbo?

Either way, sub'd for updates!

Course man thank you! I never actually thought about that... but I'm not sure how they would find me... course stranger things have happened..

I did not cut the rally armours, they came precut for the car and I have not modified them... perhaps the other ones you're seeing are different model perhaps? I wasn't aware RA made any other models for the frs/brz but I'm sure it's a possibility! They're great though man you should get em. It adds a bit of flare, gives the car a bit of a widened appearance, and keeps rocks and debris from scratching the paint!

Also, I initially chose sc cause I wanted it to be my DD and didn't need crazy power output a turbo kit would give, but it being so far away from install is making me think about it a lot and I'm not sure which route I wanna go.. I may end up going supercharger though quite honestly.

Thanks for the sub! I got a crank pulley and lowering springs to install and I'll post when I do!

Awesome, which springs did you go with? I looked in your mod list and didn't see anything in particular unless I missed it?

I had the same idea originally going SC but the scalability of the turbo down the road is leaning me towards a turbo. I.e. when I'm not as worried about blowing things up, moar powah!
Granted you can get different pulleys for more boost but even then you are quite limited with SCs; it's what is ultimately leading me to turbos if it helps.

I went with the Eibach Sportlines for a 1.4in drop. I didn't put it in the mod list cause I haven't installed them yet and probably won't til next month. didn't want Oto tease anybody haha .

And thanks dude! I thought about that.. in the end turbos have ridiculous high power.. on a built engine the full blown motorsports stage 2 turbo kit can do 650whp that is fucking insane for a stock engine

Agreed but nothing wrong with a more conservative boost/tune for reliability.

Let us know how you like the Sportlines.
I was looking at the Pro Kit since I didn't want to mess too much with the geometry of the car by dropping it lower than an 1" and choose RCE Yellows due to their spring compression rating.
Although I would love to hear another person's review on if the bigger drop messes with the feel of the car.

All in all, good build and good taste; can't wait for the next updates!

Absolutely will do! If they work out well I'm gonna look at coil over kits and see what some good ones are. I've heard a lot about the rce yellows so I'll probably give those a good look over.

Again, I super appreciate the compliments man. My vision for this build is - in the end - a daily driver, but the ability to autox and do some amazing times. I want it to be clean and racey, not ricey. It will continue to have lots of time dedicated into research, proper installs, and also good quality parts. I'm not even close to finished.
