Escalation process
I just noticed today the Scion live chat is only open on Thursday 5-6 PDT (they were useless but it's sad when people lose their jobs). What is the proper way to escalate an issue so it doesn't die at the dealership? Should we start a petition about the crickets and have it presented to Akio Toyoda?
I know it's beating a dead horse but this topic needs to be remediated and put to bed already. |

They are not going to do anything about it. It is not a safety issue, it is not affecting performance and it is not affecting reliability. It's an auditory annoyance.

Answer you want to hear:
Start an online petition. Turn it into a class action lawsuit if not remediated. Realistic answer: Wrap some foam around your HPFP. Scion/Subaru ain't doin' nothin'.

A class action suit in this situation isn't warranted because a noise isn't a viable basis for a lawsuit (how is one made whole because of a mechanical sound?). A public acknowledgement with some kind of gesture to their customers would be appreciated. I don't know if these online petitions actually work. It's so annoying to read about Akio, Tada, & Subaru stroking their collective egos and nobody referencing this glitch. |

I'm not endorsing the noise - I hate it, but I'm not sure what you're expecting the engineers to do. They've tried releasing a fix for the issue and it's only helpful in lowering the intensity of the noise at best. This is an issue with HPFPs that's not unique to our platform from discussion held on different threads here.

Not me bitchin' I'm tired of reading about the following here: 1. The friggin' crickets. (either do something about it or drop it already) 2. Lack of hp and how the multitude of cars with bigger engines can beat ours in a straight line. (to paraphrase Top Gear UK what's the point of a car that can't go fast around curves?) 3. Which is better FR-S or BRZ. (ugh!) 4. People with AT are lame but people with MTs are relics. (whatever floats your boat) 5. Street racing. (should be arrested before they kill somebody)
