Tomei Type 80 in SoCal
Hello
Need to sell my Type 80 due to storage constraints. I bought it brand new, it was on the car for 500 miles and needed to be replaced due to a conflict with our aero department. I had to have a custom oval tubing exhaust built (3X cost) one built. ![]() ![]() ![]() Oval tubing: ![]() Very good condition. All the stickers, badges are untouched and the bag hasn't been opened. Looking to sell by Monday, otherwise it's going back into storage. $850 picked up only due to timing constraints. David |

How did you like the Tomei Type 80? Drone wise, how bad was it- from a 1 - 10 scale? Would you recommend it for a DD?

It has a nice, deep tone. Much nicer than hat I have now. With the silencer in, the Tomei is just deep sounding and not too loud. David |

I'm running the Tomei 80R and on my car, there is no drone whatsoever. It is loud, but smooth sounding with no burble.
You won't be disappointed if you buy this exhaust. |

My question is, do you daily drive your 86 with the Type 80? I've been getting mixed reviews and opinions on the drone/ loudness on the Type 80. Some people have told me that it's just loud, but not dron-y (which I can attest for since it does have a 104db rating); yet, there are other people that say that it drones like crazy on the stock header, over, and front pipe.(I can understand that every person's exhaust system is different but people have been telling me that it drones tremendously with two cats; shouldn't it be vice versa?) Anyways, I love loud exhausts, especially deep WRX Rumbles .

I think it's the combination of all 4 or 5 parts of our exhausts.
I have the FB turbo, Nameless 3'' front/overpipe, and Tomei 80r exhaust (fully catless). My car is pretty loud, for sure, but there's zero drone inside the car. I can drive fairly quietly if I putt-putt, short shifting at low rpm. On a NA car, I can't say, but I'd expect it might sound differently. |

I did dd when it was on my car.
No issue for me whatsoever. Heres the deal with reviews: what it comes down to is whether or not its good for you? Everybody is different and you wont know until you try. D Quote:
