Help! I'm trying to lease a frs/brz!
Hello forum. I'm trying to lease an frs/brz at a budget. My goal per month is around 250. My credit score is high, i can do a 48 month lease, can put around 2000 to 3500 down payment, I want a stick, color either blue or white, the year of the car doesn't matter.. didn't really change much, and I also have a leased kia forte 2012 hatchback with me that I have tons of extra miles on and the lease ends december of this year, I also don't mind buying it used under clean title. is it possible to hit that number? If you guys have any info or if anyone wanna give me a deal, please help. I'M DESPERATE!

You're not desperate.
Leasing is silly, because at the end of it you have nothing to show for many many thousands of dollars your just spent. You COULD buy a used one for about that much with a 72 month term, but that, again, would be silly. It does not sound like you can afford this car if 250/m is your limit. There will be maintenance costs, much higher insurance than a forte, and until december your credit is all tied up. |

Or just buy it out at the end for a small premium over just buying outright...
Getting your payments down to 250 is going to take probably even more money down than that even on a lease. Tax alone is like $25/mo added on those payments. If $250/mo is all you can afford, then don't get this car. |

$279/mo 36 MONTHS
$1,999 due at lease signing $285/mo 24 MONTHS $1,999 due at lease signing Can't really beat that with Scion's Pure pricing... I know when I leased mine, 36 months vs 48 months made neglible differences in monthly payments. I highly doubt you'd get in the 250 range. http://www.scion.com/promotions/pure...t=b#model=FR-S

With 3999 down I've seen base models of the fr-s (MT) as low as 242/mo. That was on a 2014 argento, unfortunately it sold about 3 weeks ago. If you keep your eyes out and wait for sales events while saving up to that 4k mark you should have no issues.
Also I was going to upload the new financing sheet for the scion iFi but i noticed it said dealer only, dont wan't to get in trouble but i will tell you that if you can qualify with iFi as soon as the 2015's hit the floor you may be able to get a 2014 base fr-s(not monogram) at 2999 down/249mo at 36mo(1.9%). Good luck! Edit: I believe that sheet was based off A/T so the monthly premium should actually be a touch less... |

VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION!
Do you plan on modding the car? If so, just forget it and save up to buy. |

My payments went to 0 when I increased my down payment to ~sale price
Take that statement and think about it. Downpayment and monthly payment mean nothing. First you need to come up with the sale price. Then factor APR if you are financing (including finance term length: 3,5,7 years?). Tax, title, license. Downpayment has very little to do with monthly payment.

Check the scion page and build your own and choose the lease option to get a rough estimate. But if you plan on modding the car then forget leasing (imo). But if you plan on keeping it stock then I would prefer it, why not? i think its good to mess around with the car for 2 years and then give it back and sit in something new every 2-3 years. Plus you can get cheaper lease rates if they see you leased the frs before and if you come back for frs/brz 2.0..as long as you made your payments on time. And if anything goes wrong you can take it to the dealer and they'll fix it as long as you didnt mod it. The only problem is the mileage restriction, but thats if you drive a lot. I was thinking of leasing the evo x a year ago for $260-ish a month. But I know that I wouldn't of kept that stock for long, but would of been fun to smash on it for a couple years lol

He says that since you're not supposed to mod your car if you lease it since you don't actually own it. I'm leasing my FR-S and I've already put a few mods on it, and I plan to do more. As long as you tell them you're buying the car right after your lease is up, they won't knock you for anything at all.
