HKS returning to the US as HONG KONG STLYE?

HKS returning to the US as HONG KONG STLYE?

Full Article Here

Hong Kong Style? Hilarious if they do. I'm just worried about the manufacturing being moved to China if this deal goes through.

I had to look up what HKS stood for after reading this, I honestly never cared enough to look it up before. Hong Kong Style is funny though, can't see it happening or making it into the printed logo.

For those to lazy to google-fu:
Quote:
HKS was formed in 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa, a former engineer for Yamaha Motor Company, and his partner Goichi Kitagawa, while the start up capital was supplied by Sigma Automotive.

Not many people know that currently HKS is direct with Motovicity only and all vendors buy HKS through Motovicity.

Meh. Not everything from China is bad.

They'll still be a niche market if they can't reign in their pricing though.

HKS made some great bolt ons and were way ahead of their competition back in the early 90's.. Never inexpensive, but always good quality and performance..
Haven't seen much descent from them in years.. They haven't been producing too many good things of value lately.. IMO..
Going the way of china might reduce their costs, but the competition is fierce and they aren't so special anymore..

No worries, happens to the best of us from time to time...

I had to go back and re-read it closely myself, as I grew up in that area and have a lot of "tuner homies" in Plano & surrounding 'burbs. I figure they would have let me know about it well before a random blog site would have...
