Sportline springs
I'm planning on picking up a pair of Eibach sportline springs this Friday, but no matter how many pictures I see on the internet or how many people I ask, I feel like I cannot make an informed decision on whether to pull the trigger unless I see/feel them for myself.
So I wanted to ask...I'd be so grateful if anybody in the GTA (who has em installed) would be nice enough to let me come by to see them, maybe feel how they are on the road? Obviously at a time convenient for you! Thank you all in advance! ![]() ![]()

I hope that you don't have to go "around the world" and that you "get lucky" and find someone local to show you the parts!
Sorry your forum name asked for that. |

I have never had them on my car but from talking to others when I first thought about it they were disappointed.
The biggest complaint being that the ride quality (especially on the streets in the GTA) was terrible. Also know someone who blew his stock struts on these springs. If you do plan on going with these springs, make sure you do it right. The drop they give you will require you to get camber bolts in the front and LCA's in the rear to ensure you maintain proper camber. |

If your priority is looks then sportlines are usually going to make you happy. If retaining or improving the handling of the car is your thing...I would not go with sportlines. The drop is going to be more than ideal and negatively impact the geometry of the car.
If you like Eibach and they have the pro-kit springs for our cars then I would steer you that way, the drop on those is typically about as much as you'd want to lower a car. Just my .02, I've had sportlines on a car before, and most cars these days especially ones like ours can't take much more than a 1" drop before you start doing bad things to the geometry.

My friend had USA version Eibach Sportline springs with Bilstein Sport shocks on the Mk5 Jetta 2.0T. Jaw jarring stiff!!!
I had German version Eibach Prokit springs and Prokit shocks on the Mk5 Golf GTI, rode like BMW M Sports Package. Just right. My BRZ with STI springs and stock shocks ride similar than my GTI on the streets, not as low as my GTI was but it is already bottoming out rolling out of Pmall with the crappy tarmac. I can't imagine it with Sportlines. Last edited by krayzie; 06-17-2014 at 06:17 PM. |

If you care at all about ride quality, get the Pro-Kit over the sportlines.

Just come out to the bi weekly meets posted on the forum or lookup brz world meets on theirwebsite/Facebook. There will be someone with the sportlines for you to see in person along with many other setups you can compare. That's my favorite way of shopping

I have Sportlines and i'm fairly happy with them. I don't track my car or anything so the performance wasn't my first priority. They look good (perfect drop IMO) but they are a bit bouncy and rougher than stock. I am also using factory shocks. I have about 10,000Kms on them so far and no issues. Eventually I will swap them out for coils.

Thanks for everybody's input so far!
Although I absolutely love the look of the sportlines, I'm currently leaning towards the pro-kit for practicality, but know I wouldn't totally be happy with the drop. Comfort is so subjective, what might be unbearable for some people, might be totally ok for me. I would still love to see a sportline setup in person. Also, I would love to start coming out to local meets more often but I can't seem to find the time especially while juggling building my portfolio and doing freelance work =(
