Drifting your brand new FRS?

Drifting FRS is fun.. But is it unhealthy for the car? Mine is brand new and already drifting it for fun.. and as I keep drifting it, it's addicting that I know I will drift it even more..

Well normally, you would wait for the car to hit a higher milage before you go crazy.. I just can't wait.

tires, brakes, clutch. all will be under tons of stress while drifting. other than that...don't hit anything.

If your engine goes 20k miles from now, please don't criticize the car for "poor reliability"

Ha, cars are meant to be driven, especially ones that they advertise as drifting on canyon roads.

The same cars they advertise carrying race tires in but then void the warranty when the di seals go?

I haven't heard of people being denied warranty for the seals unless they have FI. If so, that's fucked up and I would take it to a new dealer.

There should be no problem with drifting... It's the hitting things part where it starts getting hard on the car.

Yep.

As my sister-in-law said, you don't buy an FR-S to drive it slow. I'm an old geezer and I still try to get sideways every now and then.

There is a test track closed course that the local dealers share and have access to. It is cool. Has a few squirrelly turns for sports cars and has a dirt and gravel mound to climb and descend for the off road customers. It's closed to public but they test drive there. I told the guy at Toyota that I need to see what this thing will do before I bought it. He showed me the pedal dance to disable all the tc systems and we drifted the demo car around the skid pad. I was sold... But I bought another car on the lot, not that one, lol!
