Main Head Unit Blown Out

So I went to go plug in my iPhone in the USB to charge, and I noticed the whole radio and unit shut off. Been going a day now with no radio. The screen keeps trying to power on but it just goes to black. Taking it to the dealer Monday. Checked some fuses they seem to be perfectly fine anybody want to help? ITS THE WEEKEND NO RADIO BORING.

The problem is because the Headunit thinks your iPhone is a USB stick but it can't read it so it crashes the head unit. Don't use the built in USB port to charge your phone...use a separate charger.

Why would that happen? Maybe if you have 0 songs on the phone?

I tried my old ipod, my iphone 4, and my iphone 5c and all work great. They all have music on them though.

Sounds like the OP's HU still isn't working even without the iphone connected. It might've bricked the unit somehow

The headunit is only designed to read Fat32 formatted disks, if it's not Fat32 then it has issues. Also if the head unit can see multiple folders in the base directory of the USB stick it will try to mount all of them as individual hard disks instead of just mounting the USB stick as a single disk, it mounts the base folders as disks. It's just poorly designed...

If the OP's unit is still completely broken after removing the USB stick it may have corrupted itself trying to mount too many disks.
@soon... may have a similar problem if the head unit can see multiple folders in the base directory. OP may have just got a bad luck of the draw and corrupted his HU on mount.

The best way to get a USB stick to work with this HU is to make sure it's formatted as Fat32 (not exFat) and then make sure there is a single base directory on the USB stick and then put all the other folders in that ONE base directory. I currently have a 64gb USB Stick formatted this way.

Another thing is that sometimes the HU will try and successfully find the hidden folders on the drive, which can sometimes freeze playback. Only way to unfreeze it is to go through the search folders function. When deleting files from the drive, you should make sure that the recycling bin(it's a hidden folder) on the drive is empty.
