So I wanted to know what kind of shoes you guys wear for spirited driving.

I drive a manual transmission, and the current shoes I wear everyday give me very little feel for the pedals and the clutch engagement point. Sometimes my left shoe will actually get stuck toward the back of the footwell, and cause me to have a jerky launch when trying to be smooth when letting off the clutch.

I know most people, for day to day driving wear whatever they have to go to work or whatever, but if there's any people that actually try to find the right gear for better pedal feel, then let me know what you have.

I might just get some vans, or something minimal, since most sneakers, are chunky and don't let you feel much.

And I'm not talking about those weird Puma driving shoes.

There's a more recent one but I can't find it, I think it's in other automotive.

I would actually say this might turn into a good discussion. When I wear my high-tops (yeah, I'm a ballllla), I don't feel much between myself and the pedals. Then I put on some shoes that don't have much between the bottom of the shoe and my foot, and I feel very connected (something like Sperrys or Hush Puppies). Some people say you can feel it really well without shoes on, but that kinda freaks me out for some reason.

I think my favorite is when I'm wearing those really light Nike Running shoes. Some cushioning, but little enough to actually feel the pedals.

They work great for water sports but also work great for driving as well.

Converse All Stars suck for heel-toe. I do have a pair of Sanuks that have a very wide sole and allow effortless heel-toe'ing.

In terms of pedal feel, the Chucks do just fine.

I wear Merrell Trail Gloves. They're my minimalist running shoes. Very thin sole, so great pedal feel. They're pretty snug on my foot, so they don't flop around very much.

Or my fivefingers. Haven't worn those in a while though.

Everyone will have different opinion on this. I kinda like Nike Running Sneaker when I do spirited driving. Since the shoes have thick rubber cushion, I can reach the accelerator while braking very easily. I tried flat shoes like Vans, Chucks, Toms, but didn't work well for me.

I have a pair of Puma driving shoes, but never use them. They are too narrow for me to heel toe in them.

Same...LOVE my Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Pumas but you can't heel-toe with them

These are my absolute favorite for driving. They are extremely light and I can walk in them in comfort for longer than any other shoe I've owned, and they happen to have a fantastic shape for heel-and-toe.
