N00b Question: what do you do with the OEM wheels, should you get aftermarkets?

per the title, in the US, what do you do with the old OEM wheels and tires? IE where can you sell them? I'd like to avoid the hassle of ebay/craigs if I can.

I'm keeping the stock wheels.I happen to like the stock wheels, but I seem to be in the very small minority of that here. They are relatively light, and I like the color/design of them. I definitely like them enough I can't see spending a 10th of the price of the car to replace them with something else.

In the end, maybe that means I'll be the only one with those wheels on the car, making me unique! So, everyone else PLEASE change your wheels!! :happy0180:

The tires I'll probably run for now and probably change them out in the Fall. Who knows, maybe I can take a second set of stock wheels off someone in Atanta's hands and mount them as summer tires. If anybody just wants to have a place to dump a set, let me know!

If where you live has winters and would drive your car in winter, stock wheels for winter tires, aftermarket for summers.

I will use the stock rims for my winter tires, and sell the rubber to a tire reseller. They will give me $30-40 per tire. That will help pay for 18" rubber (well... A little bit anyway)

Hmmmmm... Never thought about painting them. Should I do black on a black FR-S? Red? Blue? Bright green? Hmmmmm...

I like the wheels too, although painting them all black is tempting.

I very much like the look of the stock wheels, and also recognize that they were engineered carefully to enhance the overall balanced design philosophy of the car.

I will seek to buy another set of OEM wheels for winter tires. Either that or a set of 16" Impreza wheels for the winter, which I have read will fit just fine.
