Any pre-installed options when car arrives at Dealer?

Hi all,

I put down my deposit for a FRS a month ago.

The salesman I am working with doesn't know much about options or what's going on. He's also on the slimey side, as he tried to call me about other deals asking me if I know other ppl interested in scion products and having no info about my car when he did interrupted me on my weekend.

Thus, I wanted to ask here: when the cars arrive at the dealer, do they come with any options installed or is it all done at the dealer?

I just want to prepare myself in case they try to give me some story about not being able to remove options such as window tint when I take delivery.

Thanks all !!

There are no options on the car. Scions are all mono-spec, with options added per buyer request.

When I place my order at the dealer (in March) I asked for the mud guards, trunk mat, and wheel locks, supposedly all dealer installed stuff. I didn't get the mud guards but I did get the bumper guard (didn't ask for it). About $200 for the lot. They appear as options on the window sticker. It kind of sounds like they might be installing the bumper guard on almost all the cars (at the port?), so if you don't want it, speak up quickly!

I wasn't given a choice on the bumper protector. Dealership said 'welp, we're installing it, so you'll pay for it if you want the car'.

Not the best experience in the world.

When I tried to pre-order at this one dealership. They told me they would be getting in 3 at the end of this month and they would all be "fully Loaded" with leather seats and tinted windows for the "exclusive" price of $30k. Lol I wasnt going to fall for that crap. The salesman was going on about how much better it would be than the brz and that toyota makes better cars than subaru. I hate shady dealers...

I have yet to see one without ANY options pre installed from the factory. They mostly have BeSpoke, trunk mats, paint protection, mudguards and toyoguard.

This is how the window sticker/label breaks down:

1) If it's from the factory, it'll be in the first column on the label, with a total including the options and the base price.

2) Then the second column on the label is for port installed options, and again you'll have a total at the bottom of that for anything else added.

3) Then if the dealer puts anything on the car, it will have another sticker that shows you what they have put on at the store, and a final total.

The dealer does not have control over what is pre-installed. We're mostly just getting the luck of the draw... Also if you go their website, and click on the FR-S you sould be able to see what and when they have coming in - including the options on it already. Hope that helps!

And hey, I'm in SC if you live around the south and want a new dealer. haha :happy0180:
