Hey folks -
We've been procrastinating about adding a trunk lip spoiler to our FR-S for about a year now, and it's time to get off the fence and do it. I want one that mounts with tape only, doesn't overhang the sides of the trunk, and is finished in Hot Lava. I'd prefer one that has the long 'fangs' extending down beside the license plate for additional support, but the 5-Axis style seems to be our best option. Recommendations? Buy one of the sub $100 black ones and have it painted locally? Try a DIY spray? If we go that way, should we get FRP, ABS or PU? Would it be better to find our best deal for a real 5AD (about $350, maybe) or get an eBay clone for about $50 to $100 less? I apologize if this thread gets too close to a flame war, but I haven't found any real good info for a good cheap painted spoiler in recent posts or via Google, so... any input? Please.

Def a whole thread dedicated to all the spoilers for our car with pics but I think the TRD spoiler is the best option for our cars. I paid $400 for mine and it came factory painted. It does come with two mounting screws in addition to the 3m but I just ripped those off and only used the adhesive. Its on there solid with just the tape.

Okay... so no input for a pre-painted spoiler except the 5AD. Does anyone have any experience with the CFW spoiler? How much work was involved in fitting? Recommendations for a source (Ventura County CA USA) for painting?
Has anyone done a DIY for a metallic finish (e.g., Hot Lava) on a FRP spoiler? Any other comments/input?

In that^ thread, dude buys an ebay spoiler and sprays it himself, turns out pretty well. Just something to consider if you're not HUGELY picky. Edit: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...spoiler&page=2 Here's the thread where he actually talks though it.

Mine is silver and am thinking of getting one of those 50 dollar ebay jobs and just leaving it black. Anyone do this?
