Warning for those considering Hawk DTC-60 brake pads

For the last couple of years I have been using Ferodo brake pads (DS-UNO on track and DS-2500 on street), but recently switched to Hawk DTC-60's when I won some contingency money for them in NASA TT. They had only been on for a couple of days of daily driving and everything seemed fine at first. They could be rather squeaky, but I was expecting that. However, one night it rained and all the brake dust that these pads generated turned to rust that is pretty well coated to my wheels. It will come off, but its going to take some work.

I think I'll be going back to the Ferodos after I finish off this set of pads, since although they created a fair amount of dust, it stayed dust and was pretty easy to clean off.

I will say that the pads do feel pretty good, although I haven't used them on track yet, so if you don't care about having rusty looking wheels, they may not be a bad pad choice.

That's why I park in a garage I also think Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner would take that right off.

Try some Sonax, it takes Ferodo dust off without even scrubbing!
