The syXen BRZ

Cheesy intro time.

As soon as someone where I work shared an article with me detailing the 86 Twins and what they'd look like, I knew it was the car for me. I was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 at the time, so this car was a huge improvement. I wanted the FR-S at first, but the BRZ and Subaru brand grew on me more and more. After some magical timing and luck, went to test drive one and somehow walked away with a 2014 Subaru BRZ Premium with 8 miles on it on 01/29/2014. I got a MT even though I didn't know how to drive it, so one of my friends drove it off the lot for me and spent about an hour and a half teaching me how to drive it. Never modded a car before so here we go.

Just a quick rundown of my mods and in what order they came.

While I decided what direction to go with the car, I bought a lot of simple interior accents, such as a console plate, cupholder trim, and red speaker trim. Loaded up my custom startup screen on the stock head unit. Got the OEM-style removable armrest and EmdomUSA GT86 custom seat belt pads as well. Added a cheap radar detector and red 118 lumen LED dome light from DiodeDynamics.

Finally started adding some exterior mods, while I was still in the process of learning how to add performance and get more power from the car. Started with the Buddy Club tail lights, tinted them a bit with VHT. Wish I hadn't at this point, but eh. I'll fix it later. Added some window rain guards and the Rexpeed roof spoiler, as well as the Perrin 2" Shorty Antenna. Tinted the windows as dark as I could.

I've installed the carbon fiber dash panels, and some used Varrstoen wheels I picked up from a guy nearby. Dipped them black, did one with a red lip. Also, I decided to remove the chrome fender trim since I was getting rid of the chrome on the wheels. The blacked-out look is definitely more appealing to me. I have blacked out the amber side markers as well. I may eventually get the JDM clear ones, but the solid black is amazing and you can still see the amber light when it's flashing.

I recently installed the Perrin cold air intake and the Perrin inlet tube, which deletes the stock sound tube. Sounds so much better. I installed some cheap exhaust tips, to give it some oomph until I get the exhaust I want installed.

How she looks most recently:

I've got big plans for her. Basically everything I'm paying for right now is gonna stay in my closet until I have the full turbo kit, exhaust system, and more ready to go. Stay tuned.

Luckily these wheels are only temporary. Got them for a good price used. I plan on lowering the car and getting some lighter wheels, plus some beefier tires.
