Shell V-power and chirping

I've had awesome luck last year with Shell V-power gas prior to winter. It very rarely gave me any crickets. Now that the windows go down, I'm noticing them all the time. I've never used anything but V-Power though.

Anybody else noticing this?

Hey man, I used to be very strict on myself to always fill on v-power for crickets but then I started logging my IAM...at one point it was a low as .57 (granted, was on stage 1 tune at that point but I'm pretty sure it would have knocked on stock tune as well) - after that, Ultra 94 all the way. Crickets is a tiny thing when compared to knock.

When my car was new when I first got it the crickets were there. Now I use Shell V-Power just about every fill up since and the crickets have ceased to exist. I'm also probably a little harder on my car than most.

Most quiet with Shell 91.

Esso 91 is distinctively noisier, but Petro 94 is the worst.

Never tried Esso 93.

I have exactly the same results, and that's after getting my HPFP replaced last summer

When does winter gas end? I bet that's worse for crickets somehow.

I do drive the piss out of my car though.... maybe that helps scare them away lol. I know it is weird how they were present on V-Power which made no sense at all to me then I started running Ultra94 and they disappeared, I cant explain it at all.

I also use almost exclusively v power, chirps are intermittent. When I go down south though the new esso 93 is actually the best it's ran without crickets, I'd reccomend.

Brand of gas doesn't seem to affect the chirp.

I too strictly used Shell V-power and have replaced my fuel pump 4 times now.

Thankfully its covered under warranty.

Is it really a big issue(besides the annoying sound) if it crickets or not?? I only use shell 91 and never had an issue with crickets. Whenever I fill up with esso or petro however, the crickets are loud AF.

Don't really feel like going to the dealer to get a replacement pump
