Exhaust aluminum foam/padding suggestion?

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for an exhaust 'padding' material. I find that my Perrin 3" CBE will rub against my rear cross member during bumps and would like to prevent long-term wear (possibly into a hole). Most Perrin CBE's I've seen have decent clearance here so it might just be me...don't want to start any speculation.

During normal driving, it's not much of an issue but as I will be tracking and possibly autox this summer, the sideways G will likely increase the magnitude of the contact.

Cheers/.

Perrin exhaust clamps are adjustable, can you loosen them reallign exhaust and retighten or take off midpipe and bend slightly.

Alternativly you can put rubber gromets on the exhaust mounting hangers to reposition the exhaust slightly put them on the chassis side not the exhaust side as it not as hot. This trick good for about 2cm adjustment, dd this to allign tips.

Thanks for the tips - tried adjusting the v-clamps quite a bit. thing is, If i were to perfectly centre the tips, the S-Pipe would be even closer to the LSD. Right now it's favouring driver side and I've got about 1/2 cm clearance between S-Pipe and LSD.

Your suggestion to bend midpipe seems interesting - you mean at the flex joint?

Bend the pipe itself, be best to heat it and bend it around something thats a large radius so you dont kink it, or just take it to local exhaust shop and they should be able to sort it.
