Pollen Stains? Please Help! - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

So I live in Florida and have had an issue with pollen for the past few weeks. I have two spots where thick pollen was on the car and I wiped it off. The pollen left a light yellowish stain on my paint. I tried using dish soap to remove it and that did not work, as well as conventional car wash did not work. The thing that sucks is that I waxed my car yesterday, walked out this morning to check for pollen, there was nothing. 20 minutes later I walked out and there was a spot on my driver side mirror, a BIG one that had to have been dropped there within those 20 mins. I wiped it away with soap and water and it still left a stain. I am at a loss, Its a 2014 Whiteout. Any ideas or suggestions??

You'll need to clay your car. My white brz, had a lot of spot stains and I was able to remove it with a claybar. You can pick up the claybar from any auto parts store or retailers that carries auto detail supplies. And, be sure to wax the area that you clay.

Avoid using dish soap on your car, it can dull your finish very easily. I would try a clearcoat safe bug and tar remover (turtle wax makes a good one) to try a quick fix before going all out and using a clay bar.

I was thinking about trying the clay bar, but lets say I have a spot on my hood. Should I clay the entire hood and then wax, or just clay the spot then wax.

If you have gone through the trouble preparing the few pollen spots for clay baring (i.e. washing the car) , its probably worth it to clay bar the entire car. Depending on the air quality where you live and if you park outside or not, you can expect to claybar once or even twice a year - depending on how particular you are about maintaining a glassy-smooth surface. Clay baring doesn't remove any clearcoat, so you can technically do it as many times as you want.

Same issue here. Usually by end of day after washing car is covered in pollen "dust". Then you have the big yellow drops that harden. Those I usually hit with the windshield scrubber at gas station-I know u know..... My paint needs some love lol...WHO'S IN FOR A OPTICOAT group buy?

If you have the time, I would clay the entire hood... but if you're short on time, I would just clay part of the hood.

Another thing you could try is getting some cleaner wax.

What for swirl marks? Tried done OLD polishing compounds I had but did nothing.
