Man, the stock wheels are strong

3-4 days ago at about 11pm, I was driving home and reached over to change a song on the head unit. For about 2-3 seconds I wasn't looking closely at the road (corner of the eye, yada yada). I didn't notice a crack in the road about 20 feet long which split to wider than the wheel. All of a sudden both left front and left rear dropped into the hole I hadn't noticed.

Holy crap. It was the hardest hit I've ever had in a pot hole - and the roads around here get pretty bad... to the point that over 20 years I've had 2 blown tires and multiple dented rims on other cars (stockers and cheap aftermarkets) as a result of potholes. My brother was with me and he couldn't hardly believe it.

For the next few hundred feet, he and I were expecting to feel a wobble and/or a flat tire. Nothing happened. I was about 2 miles from home so I kept driving. Got home and inspected the inside and outside of the tires and wheels as well as I could with them still on the car. No apparent defects in either.

I've driven about 200 miles since and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Must say I'm impressed. I just hope it didn't do any damage to the other suspension components.

I feel like the title of this post should be "Man, the stock head unit sucks".

I have a 2014 with the new headunit. They DID NOT add any buttons, unfortunately.

I like it too... but when I hit a big pothole because I was looking over at the head unit, I sometimes wish it had them.
