The newly launched Rezvani Beast ended up in Jay Leno's Garage to prove its game.

With the company's founder, Ferris Rezvani, as a special guest and the Arial Atom-based car taking the spotlight, the video focuses on some of the characteristics of the model, including the Honda-sourced 2.4-liter K24 Rotrex supercharged engine, delivering 500hp (507PS) and 374lb-ft (507Nm) in this case.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential, or through an optional sequential gearbox with paddle shifters. The 0 to 60mph (96km/h) acceleration takes just 2.7 seconds.

Even though it's based on the Atom and uses a Honda engine, the Beast doesn't come cheap as it starts from $165,000. The most expensive version of the vehicle created by Ferris Rezvani is called the Beast X and it brings more power from the same 2.4-liter engine, 700hp (710PS). With just five units of this version available, each one costs a whopping $325,000.

Rezvani also does conversion kits, so if you happen to have an Arial Atom lying around and a lot of money to spend, you can add the more aerodynamic body, which increases the car's weight to 1,600lbs (725kg).

Californian builder Rezvani has added a new model to their range, the new Beast Alpha.

The model is essentially a hardtop version of the Beast launched last year but does differ beyond simply having a fixed roof.

Most notably, the Beast Alpha isn’t based around the Ariel Atom like its roadster sibling and instead uses a Lotus-based aluminum chassis. Additionally, the Beast Alpha no longer uses a turbocharger alongside the Honda-sourced 2.4-liter K24 four-cylinder and instead draws on extra power courtesy of a Rotrex supercharger. The engine also benefits from new cams, stronger pistons and rods and a ported head.

All told, it pumps out 500 hp, weighs 1,950 pounds (884 kg) and is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds before topping out at 175 mph (281 km/h).

Elsewhere, the Beast Alpha is made unique thanks to its new ‘SideWinder’ doors which despite look highly impractical, do give the sports car yet another interesting talking point. In the cabin, owners will be treated to plush black alcantara and leather, an infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air conditioning, air bags and a number of different driving modes, including one which maximizes fuel efficiency.

Prices for the Honda Beast, no wait...sorry, the Rezvani Beast start at $200,000.

Rezvani Motors' latest product, the Beast Alpha, is not just appealing to look at, but it also features a unique door layout, named 'SideWinder'.

On display at the 2016 LA Auto Show, the Californian-based automaker's vehicle unusual door operation promises to offer "a unique experience unlike any other" and more available room when entering and exiting, in addition to their flashy design.

Besides the special door opening, the new Rezvani Beast Alpha features a removable targa-style top, high intensity LED headlights for improved illumination, ergonomical seats, and a race-inspired instrument cluster.

The $200,000 Beast Alpha is powered by a 2.4-liter Honda racing engine, which is pushing out 500 horsepower. With overall weight at just 1,950 lbs (884 kg), it enables it to sprint from rest to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and up to 175 mph (281 km/h).
