Big Problem

Was driving into town today and the BRZ just died. Tried to restart it several times but it after a second it would just shut off but didn't throw a code. Besides this problem it was towed to the dealer with the electric supercharger still attached among other modifications - should prove interesting.

Was this your first time driving it since doing some sort of modification to your car (specifically electrical work). Just about all cars will automatically shut off if they detect a short or cut wire that would be important to the car running... typically to prevent theft

The biggest problem I see is the deliberately vague thread title to draw people in.

D@mn that sucks, good luck with it and keep us posted.. as a potential phantom customer (I am doubting it is) but interested to see if the esc is somehow the cause. You also have the battery relocated to the trunk, so if it is an electrical problem I hope they will cover it.

So chances are with all the electrical stuff, it has something to do with that...

Did the engine crank at all or no?

I bet something came off or loosened from the starter battery. If you have a battery relocate this even more possible that it is the culprit. Mine did the same thing a long time ago because I didn't tighten everything properly. I drove it to the store in town and when I got back to the car it wouldn't start. All I had to do was go in and secure the neg cable to the post properly and it started back up. All the best I'm sure everything is fine.

Fenton,

Thanks for the input. The rest of the car is getting power so maybe it is alternator related.

Hmmm I can't remember if mine did too. I'm pretty sure all my lights would come on too but you would turn the key and just nothing would happen.

Ya jpit is running the phantom sc with a ecutek tune. It is one of the only electric superchargers that actually works on the market.

Take a look at the forced induction build thread...it has about 340k views now

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39719

There is about 10 people currently running it on the ft86...soon to be 20.
