Women, and their car-destroying vices

I've noticed that almost every woman in my life (sister, girlfriend, mom, friend, etc), has a particular habit when riding in the BRZ that drives me nuts. For example:

Mom and sister: Drag heels across door sills - I got major scratches now
Girlfriend: Closes door by the frameless window glass, I love just watching it bend and flex
Coworker: Slams the absolute fucking crap out of the door when she closes it
Old girlfriend in old car: shoes on the god damn upholstery wtf!

Anyone else have passengers in their car do stuff that drives you nuts and makes you realize you might be OCD? Or maybe your passengers just treat your property like shit...

And the more important question: How do YOU instruct your passengers on proper behavior without coming across like a ****?

Girlfriend was walking to my car with cat-hair soaked coat. I'm thinking "aww damnit ... (sigh) ..well that's love, guess I won't bug her about it."

She opens the door, and promptly removes her coat before sitting down. "Cat hair on my coat! ^.^ "

First week I had my car I was giving someone a ride and she opened up a container of lunch meat and a bag of pretzels. My eyes about exploded. Are you serious? You're going to eat in my new car without asking?
I didn't say anything at the time, but she will never receive another ride from me.

The husband likes to slam my doors because he is used to his car. I cringe dramatically every time. He rolls his eyes. I tell him to be gentle or GTFO, lol (I avoid having him in my car).

Had a few people in the back seat at one point, and before they got in, I told them not to suff the edges with their shoes, or anything.

Being proactive about bad behaviors helps a lot.

Haven't had anything worse than that, but then again, I don't let people get into my car, lol.

Every car I've owned has had marks / scratches on the glove box from girlfriends jamming their oversized purses into the passenger side footwell.

I use to be OCD about this with my last car (black on black). Kind of gave up with it on this car. Interior has small bits of grass in the floor board (you know, the small pieces that are hard to suck up with a vacuum, dog hair, and food crumbs (wife was trying to eat a fresh McDonald's bacon, egg, cheese biscuit one morning). Not only that, but I believe the nice engagement ring I got her is responsible for the two nice scratches on the paint of my car (past the clear coat... one on the front passenger wheel fender and the rear passenger trunk lid). Oh, and lets not forget the times she has swung the door opened into the wall in the garage /sigh

She wonders why I try to back the car out of the garage before she gets in or why I ask her to get out before I pull into the garage.

Aside from that, I know what you mean.

BRZ is my first "New" Car, you don't ride if you are gross. I won't even fart in the damn thing.

Wife hates it so I'm covered there. Anyone else gets the rundown:

Don't touch the window.
Don't touch anything actually.
When you get in, sit your ass down and swing your feet in, don't hit them on the pillar, or the sill.
If you slam the door you buy lunch. Based on my definition of slamming!
Don't ask to drive.
No food, no greasy hands. (Post lunch I will call you out if you don't wash first).

My wife has learned her lessons, a few key moments she learned to treat my car nicely, but then again I'm not unreasonable. The key is to be polite. If someone is just too rude to give a damn, then I will not let them in my car. If I have someone new in the car, I will make a comment about how the car is filthy and I need to clean it (even when it's only very slightly dirty) to get the point across.

My peeves are no feet on the dash, no messy foods, no glass touching, no door slamming, and just show some respect because it belongs to someone else. I usually make a request after an offense occurs. "Oh hey could you wait til we get there, I'm trying to avoid making the car smell like food and finding 3 year old french fries" or "Just grab the edge of the door so it doesn't smear the glass".

I don't mind some dirt/debris on the floor mats or show marks on the door panel or sill, but dusty dash and console, hazy windshield, fingerprints, trash, etc drive me nuts.

Now he brags about when she has her car washed, lol

Co-driver at autoslalom stuffed my car into the grass at around 80KM/H with the windows down, let me tell you how frustrated I was cleaning the interior after that...

From day one my car hasn't gotten a shred of respect from anyone except my two car friends. Everyone else, man or woman doesn't act like it's a brand new car. A female friend of mine brought a drink with her every time we went somewhere. And she always walked through her dirty ass front yard, tracking dirt and leaves into my car. Everyone slams the door and drags their feet across the door sill, especially my older brother who wears thick soled boots.

I told my dad once not to close the door by the window because it was bad for it and he told me to lighten up. And one time, my sister bought a soft pretzel on the way out of the mall (why not on the way in I don't know) and proceeded to eat it in my back seat. I turned around to back out of the parking spot and saw the packet of mustard in her hands. It's been crazy. The car's older now so I kind of gave up trying to control people by this point.
