Yetispeed's BRZ
How's it going everyone, I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger on a BRZ. Absolutely fell in love with it after I took it out for a test drive. I picked up from the dealership 4/25/14 with 18 miles on her. I wanted to start a thread so I have a space to document changes I make, so without further adieu...
From the dealership. It rained on the way home, ah well. ![]() Bone stock ![]() How she sits now ![]() Mod list: 4/26/2014 - 20% tint 4/30/2014 - Grimmspeed front license plate relocator 8/7/2014 - Dunlop Z2 235/45/17 11/23/2014 - Steelies and Blizzaks for the winter. Yuk. 1/4/2015 - Invidia q300 Next up: Front sway bar (looking at Strano) Last edited by Yetispeed; 01-05-2015 at 12:31 PM. |

Well it's been a while since I put anything in my log, so here we go.
I've been fairly busy this spring/summer, but I have gone to 5 autocross events so far and my impressions of a stock BRZ is this - man those tires suck. I mean really. This past weekend I finally got to do my first event with real tires. I stuck with stock wheels and wrapped them in Dunlop Z2's 235/45. This made all the difference in the world and I can't wait to go to another event. I have decided to switch direction with my BRZ slightly. For the remainder of the AutoX season I will be focusing on upgrades that will hopefully help me get faster times. Fortunately I'm running CS so I won't be breaking the bank hopefully. Up next - front say bar! Finally, I have a bit of a problem. I have a large noggin and the helmets I usually grab at these events all seem to not give me enough head room clearance. I'm 6'0 and my seat is as low is I can make it. This problem would be easy if I could just swap out the seat, but alas I'd like to stay in CS. Does anyone have any recommendations on low-profile helmets or thoughts on getting adequate headroom clearance? |

Slapped on the Invidia q300 yesterday. Bolted on no problem, but took me 3 hours doing it solo and making sure everything was aligned the way I wanted. Pics to come.
