Vortech vs AVO
I am not asking for a pissing contest here between owners, I would just like to hear some pros and cons experienced by owners of these two systems. I have done quite a bit of research on the two and am completely torn. From what I understand both provide similar power with the ability of thrusting the AVO a little higher at the expense of reliability which is a big concern for me because this is my daily driver and it needs to be able to handle day to day and track use. Thanks in advance for any responses. Im sure this post has happened in the past and if you would prefer to link past threads feel free.

Look up vortech supercharger owners thread, compile list of everyone's pros/cons/issues, then go over to the avo owner's thread, compile similar list, then blend those 2 together.

Have you ever considered Rotrex units? Kraftwerks or Jackson Racing kits seem like great alternatives also

Lots of options out there for superchargers, which is a good thing! I am partial to the vortech, I've had a good experience @ 10K miles total on the kit, only changed the oil in the blower and replaced a squeaky idler pulley. Swapped on a smaller SC pulley and having even more fun. The squeak prone idler pulley is replaced with an easy to get (autozone etc.) gates pulley for $15. IMO the weakness of the kit is that squeaky idler pulley that has caused belt problems with some members. Swap that, and I'm a firm believer that its a reliable DD kit (which is what I'm doing) Not everyone has the problem, but better safe than sorry. You don't want to have to swap a drive belt on the side of the highway. Pretty sure the rotrex kits have their own dedicated belt, so no worries if the belt snaps on those kits

That is because people who are new to this car want to hear how things have held up from the 2012-now versions of these kits. Via new upgrades, new issues, etc. especially now that people have had them for awhile and put a dedicated amount of miles into each of these kits. I am also in the same category. ATM I'm meaning towards the avo kit. Was debating ptuning turbo but the price of the turbo with everything needed was so much more money than either of these kits and my car is only a dd. no need for all that power.

At one point in my research for a FI kit I was completely sold on the AVO kit but all the issues with header fitment has kind of scared me off, seriously considering kraftwerks now. As for AVO vs Vortech I would go with AVO. Seems like more power down low for less money. Plus the sound of the UEL header on the AVO is awesome. My .02

I love my AVO setup. 15,000 trouble free miles. Most of the header fitment issues were due to improper installation.

No one has ever had the single belt on the JR kit snap?, that's really not an issue. I know KW likes to claim that's a safety net & some bonus to their kit, but if a kit is designed right to begin with it shouldn't need a second. Each to their own but that just add (more) to the equation, keep it simple stupid mentality I feel is always best.

Let me show you how this thread, like the 100s that have preceded it, is going to go:
OP: "I would like experiences between Some kit and Some Other kit. I know they are completely different but I want a kit that is great for daily driving, track, is cheap, has no backorder, has good low end, has good mid range, has good top end, has good throttle response, no heat issues, and is reliable. Can anyone help?" Vortech owner: "I like Vortech, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." AVO owner: "I like AVO, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." Vortech owner: "I like Vortech, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." AVO owner: "I like AVO, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." Sensible person: "Do your own research by reading owners' threads." Vortech owner: "I like Vortech, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." AVO owner: "I like AVO, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." Vortech owner: "I like Vortech, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." AVO owner: "I like AVO, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." Random kit owner: "I like my other kit, I've had it for a while and it's been great. Did you consider them?" Vortech owner: "I like Vortech, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." AVO owner: "I like AVO, I've had it for a little while and it's been great." You're welcome. Oh, and I searched for you that way my post doesn't come off too assholeish: AVO Owner's Thread Vortech Owner's Thread
