Bluetooth connection "fixed" 2014 Limited
Hi
I just bought my BRZ about a month ago. Like many others, I was having trouble with my bluetooth connection randomly disconnecting and reconnecting. I played around with some settings and haven't had any trouble since then. The catch is that I have to manually connect my phone each time I get in the car and want to use bluetooth. But once it's connected, no problems. Been going strong for 2 weeks now. I went to Setup > Bluetooth > Registered Devices > Selected my device on the list and selected Detail > For Connection Method, the default is From Head Unit, I changed it to From Device. That's it as far as the head unit goes. Once it's set, it's set. Now when I get in the car, I have to manually connect to the car from my phone. Specifically, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon. I created a settings widget that links to Bluetooth settings on the phone and put it on my main screen. When I get in the car, all I do is click that widget, select the head unit on the list and I'm connected. I'm sure your mileage may vary depending on what phone you may have but it's worth a try. Sorry if someone else has figured this out and posted already. I looked all over the interwebs and didn't find anyone that had posted about this yet. Good luck! |

It's well documented, and it works for some. Unfortunately, it seems like not all.

Make sure you're running the current android version. I updated mine and I have no trouble connecting automatically.
