Painted calipers and a trip to the ER

Two days ago, I was switching my winter wheels to summer wheels yay! Doing so I stripped a stud using the impact..bummer but easily fixed. So I start prepping the calipers to paint them black using the duplicolor kit (using a paint brush).

I did the rear and all went well, then I started the front, as I was changing side I dropped the small paint bucket on the floor (slipped from my fingers from about 6" high) and the motherfocker did some kind of physic magic and splashed paint about 7 feet high and a good amount in my face and in both of my eyes. That stuff started burning like crazy pretty much right away, I rushed to thee garden hose to discover no water was coming in and continued my run in the kitchen sink where I asked my dad to call 911 while I was rinsing. Needless to say I had to rince for about 15 minutes then head to the ER where they took PH tests and rinsed my eyeball for about an hour using some kind of oversized contact lenses with pipes attached to them...VERY DISPLEASANT!

After the doctor cam in and checked the eyes and said there was no cornea damage...which was nice to hear. I really want to kick myself in the nuts for that mishap..my safety glass were on the floor next to me, I had removed them just minutes prior, I'm a mechanic and ALWAYS wear them..talk about a wake up call. Hope this can serve a lesson for anyone out there.

TL;DR : Wear your PPE

damn dude, I had a piece of glass in my eye when I wrecked my Rx-7, thought I was gonna go blind, the tech at the hospital said dont move your eyeball when he was pulling it out with some tools, I was shitting my pants and did not move my eyeball due to fear of losing my eyesight.

Eye injuries are NOT FUN, good to hear you or OK! =)

I got temporary blindness from an inflamed cornea doing a brake job once. Don't recall getting anything getting in my eye either. It just kept itching then I closed one eye and realized I couldn't see with the other. Luckily it went away, safety glasses are a must.
