I can't stand it, I gotta paint these OEM wheels

The look of these wheels just isn't growing on me. Time for some plastidip and then maybe a coat of flat black or similar over that if the plastidip color doesn't do it for me.

I'm not going to buy new wheels just yet, but these things bother me enough I will pull them off and plastidip them. That way, it's not 100% permanent, and I can black them out like they should have come in the first place.

If anyone has any tips I haven't seen already or want to share their wheel revival to something better looking that stock of this stock wheel, please share.

Flat black wheels on a brand new car looks tacky imo.

Want to make tacky stock wheels look more tacky? Paint them.

If they would have come without the shiny part, they'd be okay. I've seen them blacked out elsewhere, and prefer them over this stock look. And that's enough for me for now.

Can't look any worse than some of the subarus I see running around with neon pink, green or orange wheels. To each his own. I concur it's polishing a turd though trying to make these wheels look good.

I thought about hydro dipping them, but too much work and expense for now, that money will go towards new wheels.

You know, I've gotten nothing but compliments on the stock wheels

Might be because it goes well with the asphalt but still.

Lowering makes them look a little better... But yeah, matching spokes look better too. As long as you're not going neon green or anything.

When I had the stock wheels, I had the same reaction. "Those wheels didn't come with the car did they? WOW, those are nice!"

ha I get the same thing, people really dig the wheels. most people are surprised that there stock. If they were all black I would like them a lot more, dont hate them, but I just got enough plasti dip to make them red until I can understand more about all this crazy wheel stuff with offsets and such to buy some good wheels and not just ones I think look cool.

If they were 17x8 I would have probably kept the stock wheels honestly.

The 2 tone is ugly.

So silly that it probably costs more to do a 2 tone.

^ This. I was not really fond of the stock rims until I picked up my DGM BRZ. The wheels turned out to compliment the vehicle quite well. It also helped that my car came with the chrome trim (I originally did not want this, but it was already installed before I bought the car)

I'm not a big fan of the stock wheels - functional? Very. Just not keen on the spoke design, a bit too busy.
