So any hope of a TRD Supercharger?
I haven't been following the rumors just hoping for a reliably supercharger kit like what TRD has done in the past, figured I'd ask.
So any news/luck/rumor's about TRD making a supercharger for our cars?

There is one but its only available for sponsored race teams, and you have to buy them in bulks of two...... at 26,000 a pop, meaning to get your hands on one youd have to spend $52,000

When I bought my 99 Solara, there was a TRD SC offered by the dealer.
They even said they would install it and it did not void the warranty - as long as you do not change the SC pulley. Too bad they are wussies now.... |

Toyota Superchargers are typically a 2 part setup. 1 for the engine specific blower, and the 2nd for a vehicle specific mounting kit. The FA20 is obviously unique to the 86, so the entire setup would have to be a one off. I'm actually really surprised they didn't just re-brand the Sprintex/Cusco as a TRD. The 86 platform isn't living up to sales expectations globally, so it's hard to fault Toyota for not mass producing a supercharger just because it's cool.

Ah yes, because what you read on the internet is always true. Is 100k 86's on the road because of poor sales? Just because a few states in the US haven't sold well does not mean this car isn't selling. Those articles were bullshit. There were multiple threads explaining so.

Now when you take all of that sales info, in my opinion, it's not hard to figure out why the Toyota mothership won't green light a supercharger. Why build a $10,000 accessory if we're having a hard time selling an ENTIRE CAR for $25,000? I'm actually still shocked that they released the BBK, but that's another matter. Anyways, those are all just my own personal opinions that aren't based on much. Feel free to disagree or discuss
