Evo X update

What do you guys think? Is it enough?

Personally I think its a good update and makes the STI kind of getting the short end.

EJ has been a great powerplant, but sometimes you just need to let things go.

That's a super limited edition, and it costs fifty thousand pounds. I don't really see it as competing with the STi at all...

Perhaps not in price range, but STI and EVOs have always been direct competitors to my understanding.

Sure, but that's more regular STi vs regular Evo, not the crazy, limited edition, 450hp ones that are as fast as a lamborghini.

point taken.

I am not well versed in the EVO X, is the updated EVO X utilizing the same power plant as the standard EVO X?

Your link is still broken. Here's the fixed version: http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/t...ack-2014-03-26

Same engine, but with a lot of upgrades.

And the legendary Evo X's been tweaked to produce even more power than the old one. Special edition FQ-440 MR features include an ECU re-map, tubular Janspeed exhaust manifold, swollen HKS turbo, bigger intercooler - all help boost the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-pot to a huge 440bhp and 412lb ft.

Meh.. IMO

The Evo X needs a full re design, or at least a good face lift. Slapping on a different turbo is just a cheap band aid cause they cant figure out an Evo XI.

I guess I'm kind of a hater though, the Evo X was my last car and I'm never been so disappointed in a car manufacture before. I honestly think they hate there customers.

yeah man, I rode in my buddies cobb stage 3 Evo X, and I was not impressed at all.... the AC was the weakest POS sad excuse for climate control. the car was fast, but it didn't feel inspiring, it had nice seats though, dashboard was really bland too, meh...

the overall fit/finish/quality needs work imho.

I love my Evo X but it doesnt capture the same spirit as the FRS. The FRS has a huge fun factor and its exhilarating to drive. Evo has high maintenance costs too. Tires and brakes were done at 8,000 miles :\

The FRS is a hell of a car, but I also consider my evo to be one of the best cars out there.

Performance wise I do agree with you, but the Evo is in despite need of a change on the exterior and interior to keep new buyers interested. A 2014 Evo X looks the exact same as 2008. The Evo needs a nice face lift, updated interior and to move the damm AYC pump out from behind the rear wheel.
