Supplier for RCE Yellow springs in Canada?
Looking to get some RCEs before I install all my other suspension stuff, decided I don't want to go with the Sportlines. I have not found anyone local to Calgary that sells them and would prefer not to order out of the US as I always get raped.
Suggestions? |

have you tried asking RCE (racecomp enginereeing) who their Canadian distributors are, if any.. and if they will ship by USPS to reduce the duty cost?
you only get raped if you use UPS due to high brokarage fees, otherwise you wouldn't be savign that much money because you still pay tax.

My latest one was UPS sending me a bill for $300 COD 3 months after I received a package and they had already told me there was no COD. I refuse to use UPS again. |

UPS is a private firm... they overcharge for their brokerage.
USPS (united states postal service...) is akin to our Canada Post, their brokarage fee is a flat 10 dollars and they charge HST on the declared value of the product, if you are getting "raped" then you simply didn't plan for the tax.... which would pay regardless because the distributor has to carry it on to you. furthermore, the retailer here in canada will still have to charge you more, because they had to get it from there, and that cost things, and they have a business to run, so unless we're talking items which are supplied en-mass to the canadian market, you're really not going to be finding an amazing deal up here.

COD is cash on delivery, it simply means that the receiver pays costs associated with getting the package across the border....
exchange rates fluxuate.. buying now is more expensive than a year ago, this is a given.... tarrifs and tax rates can easily be looked up.... seriously dude, your "surprise" comes from not bothering to research the variables involved, this is hardly the system's fault. i used to get all angry myself, until i just read up on it.. and it became pretty clear. One key thing is to talk to the vendor and ask them how they will label the products in their paperwork.. and just go off that. if you've ever bought stuff from China or HK that gets the super low shipping fees, it's cuz they just mislabel stuff, buy a camera lens and they'll put "glass" on the packing slip... derp.

ask for things to be shipped using USPS, or at the very least FedEx, or if shipping UPS ask for a copy of the packing slip and try your best to control the process. sometimes mistakes happen at the shipper's side. They mis-label the packing slip which then causes all kinds of problems at the border. Trust me... i ship a lot of stuff all over the globe at the company work at, sometimes the smallest things cause the biggest headache, paperwork is key. i once had a package stuck in India customs for like 28 days cuz i wrote the wrong thing on a form, client was furious.

There's a place in BC that definitely carries them, email jason AT dalesmotorsport DOT com for info.
Either Andy or Myles (can't remember) mentioned to me that they were talking with Chris at http://www.tougetuning.com/ about possibly carrying their products as well, but there still nothing on the site. Might be worth shooting them (touge) an email about though.
