I bought a j2 (not much of a review)

So i bought a used j2 quad exhaust from a forumn member for 275 shipped (about 340 new.) He said it had 5000 miles on it and had to get rid of it due to room issues. I was looking to buy an exhaust and originally i wanted one that was low sounding with a very aggressive roar at higher rpms. Eventually i saw this exhaust on youtube and did some research. What made me fall in love with this one was the rumble seems to give justice to a boxer engine sound. No videos =/ but you can easily find one on youtube although those don't give it justice. It's much much louder in person trust me but with a very barable 2.5-3.2 rpm cruise. You can barely hear it with the radio volume at 25

The reason why i decided to buy this exhaust used was because i knew this exhaust had a lot of rattle issues with the heat shield. A lot of people had the hangers bent for this reason. The original owner told me he already had it bent so i just bought it used to save me some labor fees. If i would buy this again i would probably buy it new and I'll go into that later.

The sound is lovely. It's louder than what I'm looking for but the sound made me forgive it. Yea it drones a little bit but i drive manual, and when it gets too unbearable, and it hasn't yet, all i gotta do is drop the clutch and silence. With windows up you can barely notice it. I think some people add some type of sound delete do hickie to their trunk but i forgot what that is. I might look into that. I always hated how the stock sounded and first gear and second gear. Now this along with my k&n drop in sounds very nice.

Now about the fitment, i said earlier that the hangers where bent and now it doesnt rattle. Yea it does that but one of the hangers on the right side won't fit with the oem hangers so i'll probably have to buy a new and longer one. Because the hangers where pulled down, now the exhaust kind of points to the ground at an angle, i'll probably have to go to a muffler shop and get that fixed so it looks right. Because of that I probably would of just paid for a new but whatever. It was a threw piece catback and the oem is a 2 piece. My buddy and i got all confused and it took us awhile cause we were just using jack stands.

All and all I'm pretty happy with this exhaust just because of the money and sound. Still need to put some work into it though, might get a jdm read pumper cause it's a quad pipe.
