Spacer HELP?!

I installed my spacers today 20 in front and 25 in the rear. After install I drove it to make sure everything was okay. The right side is fine but the left side(driver side) is making a creak noise(like your walking on a wood floor in an old house) on every rotation. I can hear it up to 30 mph but not after that.

I also now have a popping sound after I hit the brake when I'm engaging it for the first time when coming to a stop. It is definitely coming from the front of the car.

When I installed I used anti-sieze lubricant on the back of the spacers so they would be easy to remove from the hub. I also torqued the spacers down to 70ft. lbs and the wheels to 89 ft lbs. like the manual states.

Does anybody have any idea what would be causing these noises? Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds odd, but you try pulling them back off and re-installing? Might be a first step. Odd that a spacer would make noise. I've never heard of that happening.

That's what I thought? I will have to try and re-install tomorrow morning as I didn't have enough time today. THe only other time I've heard a noise like this was after I installed new pads and rotors on my Dad's G8. Something was obviously rubbing but I didn't know what so I re-installed them and the noise went away.

Is it possible that I somehow got it too tight and something is rubbing the rotor since it's happening with rotation? The biggest thing that worries me is the popping noise that is now happening...

No, but I figured it couldn't hurt as it would just help with removal.

Ok I would suggest you remove that ASAP. The friction between the spacer and the hub face is what locates the wheel. If that is lubricated it is going to reduce that, and it's also on with 70 lbft which is lower than the oem wheel torque spec (89 lbft). Not saying that is causing your issue but I would definitely remove the spacers and wipe that off.

Okay. So should I torque the spacers down to 89 ft lbs as well as the wheels?

Antisieze on studs, good.
Antisieze on backpad of wheel/spacer, bad.

Just think: would you put anti-sieze on the backpad of a wheel?

Your noise is coming from your spacer. If you keep driving it will just fall off and you'll be stuck with an expensive fix.

I had mine torqued to wheel spec, personally. Set at 89 ft/lbs

Okay I will definitely do that. Any suggestions on how to get the hub to stay still when torqueing it down while it's in the air?

Use the brakes.

Also try torquing them in steps, maybe 50 then 89ft/lbs. both spacer and wheels.

These aren't like $20 eBay spacers are they?

lol ok just checking, maybe try swapping the spacers from the left side to the right side..
