Works XD9 vs. Enkei RPF1
Hey guys, looking to get some new shoes for my firestorm baby. I'm actually a huge fan of the OEM wheels (not tires!) but since I'm going FI in the summer, I'm going to need meaty tires = MOAR wheel width. This is sorta my DD, only have 6k miles and have had the car for a year lol.
Anyways I don't want to buy a stance/camber-yo/slammed type wheel. I want a good looking wheel that can also perform at the track (this means lighter than the OEM wheel). Since I'm going turbo I'm looking for either 18x8's or 18x9-9.5. Got a few pics of other members on the forums with the XD9's and the RPF1 Tony Angelo LE (Black). Just want to hear your opinion or if you have personal experience with either of these wheels. I know a lot of SCCA guys use RPF1 and love them. But the XD9's look amazing. If you have other wheels suggestions let me know. I plan on getting a BBK from Wilwood's or AP racing, not sure if the XD9's will even fit a BBK whereas the RPF1 will. |

I got rpf1 over xd9 mainly because of the weight. The xd9 look a little better IMO.
Since you're going FI you don't really need to worry about weight. |

Why are all the pics of those type of cars? ![]() Anyways, Honestly, if you're going to get the RPF1's in black, forget it. In that red pic you can't even see the detail. If you're going with the works in not black, then i'd go with those...just because that type black on the RPF1's looks horrible on this car. Sorry, I've seen it in real life and it was really uninspiring.

You don't need a big brake kit with any tire that'll fit on that wheel other than some DOT type race tires. Stock brakes with good pads will still lock that up all day... I looked in work's catalog and it doesn't specifically state that it does or does not work with BBK however those wheels have room for days behind the spoke, if you did have a problem I'm sure a really small spacer would fix it and not be mad tyte herrafrush cambered out yo. |
