BRZ: Setting up Aha radio?

I can't seem to get Aha to work. I've installed the app on my Android, I'm successfully connected through Bluethooth, but the Aha button remains disabled.

I noticed that in the main setup menu, there's an option to set Aha to use Bluetooth or USB, however, both these buttons are disabled, and neither is selected. Is there something else I need to do to enable Aha in the unit?

So is that a bug? Both the manual and the setup screen seem to say that it'll work through Bluetooth.

Sorry, my bad, I have iPhone 5, for iPhone 5 phone must be connected via USB for aha to work.

Didn't notice you were on android until I re-read your post.

Try connecting via USB, and see if you can enable Bluetooth that way?

Yeah, just tried that (connecting with USB)...no change to either the Aha button on the audio selection screen or in the setup menu, unfortunately.

iOS = USB
Android = Bluetooth

The only time you have to set that function is if you have USB iOS and Android via Bluetooth in the car at the same time. Otherwise that setting manages itself (I believe this is discussed in the manual for the head unit)

You should just have to install the app on your android and connect via Bluetooth and the icon will light up. You probably have to delete the Bluetooth connection and re-pair the car and the phone so the car knows your phone has aha.

That said the android app is really buggy with our cars and I have to make sure the android app is not running in the background when I connect and have the head unit actually start the app. Aha told me months ago they knew of problems with the Subaru head unit and the android app but I have not seen a single update of the app since I installed it in November (I also logged another bug that they verified that certain channels were not working). Quite frustrating it seems like they (Aha) are happy to sell head units etc but have nobody working to fix issues.

The sound quality of Aha is good (excellent on some channels) but the downsides are that its buggy and they did not spend much work making it easy to pick channels to subscribe to out of the 100s of channels (the genre groupings aren't so good and some stations are just looping the same set of songs over and over and always start on song 1 when you connect)

Ok thanks MM. Sounds like it really isn't worth it to get it working, I guess.

For me sound quality is important and when it works it sounds great! Its just a source of frequent frustration getting it to work consistently.
