SOLD! WHAT NOW?! PRELUDE/FRS

Just sold my honda prelude no car for the next few weeks. Go with the monogram series? Or wait, because of what Tada Tetsuya said.

Lol I'm going from my Prelude to a monogram FR-S (arriving this weekend). If you sold your car already, I would get one sooner than later for two reasons:

1) Monogram is very limited in general and even more so in Canada. Get on it fast if you want one, they may already be sold out.

2) What Tada said may be in reference to a next generation or may not see fruition till the 2016 model year. If it's 2015, the absolute earliest will be in the fall, putting you out of a car for most of the year.

On a side note, I'm curious to know why are you going from the lude to the FR-S? Seems like many others are as well haha. I personally see it as a modern prelude, or the closest thing we can get to one (aside from their obvious differences). The cars are strikingly similar in weight, power, and size.

I think it's because the prelude was a good car and for people who own/ed them the next step would be maybe an Si. But the twins are what the Si should have been, most people wanted them to be. So it is a logical next car

Thanks so much! Yeah i was researching back in '12, and found out they are exactly the same besides FWD vs RWD. I think im head over heels for this car, even though the statistics are right in front of my face. Every time i see this car on the road, i kinda want to follow it around a bit and .. admire! such a beauty. btw what color did you buy?

My thoughts exactly. I love the look of the car from every angle, something I liked about my prelude as well (I have a 4th gen). As for the FR-S Monogram, I got Firestorm. They are only in Firestorm, Raven and Whiteout in Canada :/

Where in Canada are you located?

Yup, I couldn't see myself in a civic as it's technically lower in the hierarchy than the prelude. Don't get me wrong, I think the Si is a great car, just not a purpose built little sports car like the Prelude or FR-S.

I think you hit the nail on the head

If it wasn't for my 91 Prelude, I probably wouldn't have the FR-S right now. Personally, I would get a FR-S now. They still haven't announced when the updates will be coming. Might not be until next year.

I actually saw a nice 5th gen a couple days ago with the OEM lip kit, love that look. Gave the guy a

I was this [ ] close to purchasing a 5th gen prelude as something more fun to drive for winter and/or longer summer trips.

Guy wanted too much for it in my opinion, and it leaked a significant amount of oil the first time I went to see the car, haha.

Good job choosing an FR-S ... I'll go ahead and put a shameless plug for Whiteout

I had a really nice prelude. Great car! I'd say get a 2013 FR-S/BRZ if you are on any kind of budget. Otherwise, wait for the newer version. It may (probably) will cost a good portion more than the current model.

Wait for 2015. Its gonna be an AP1/AP2 S2000 scenario.
Plus its likely many of the things in the monogram will become standard as well.

If you keep waiting there is always going to be an updated model on the way with (plug in one or more of the following…more power, updated body style, new and better features, more standard options, etc.) It's just a matter of do you want to drive a really great car now or do you want to wait in the hopes that the upgraded features are worth the wait?

My ap1 was faster than my friends ap2. We drove our cars against each other, then swapped cars with the same result. Just saying, the HP stayed the same (went down 1 hp), tq went up, drive-ability was better around town, but not a drastic upgrade.
