My thoughts...

5) Smart seat heaters? Why? I don't particularly care for seat heaters in the first place, but if you must have seat heaters, I don't see why a simple two or three position switch (or a dial adjustment) is insufficient. Of course, I'm also one of those people who thinks automatic climate control is both unnecessary and annoying...

4) Agreed. Small keys are good.

3) Speed limits on speedometers? Nah. If you aren't paying enough attention while driving to see the speed limit yourself, you should pay more attention, not trust the car to do it for you.

2) I don't particularly want my car depending on my phone to get the right time.

1) Doesn't everyone just use the aux in jack and a phone or MP3 player anyways?

Technology a car needs: electrical power to run the spark plugs, a tachometer, springs for suspension, rubber compounds for the tires, steel and aluminum alloys for structural materials, and fossil fuels to power the engine.

That's it. keep auto-drive and crap like that OUT of my vehicle. I work in avionics. I see the code that goes into planes who operate much more safely than cars do, and I wouldn't want to trust that stuff to drive my car, let alone what they'd actually put into cars. HELL NO.

I like good EFI and other computer technologies which allow for smaller, lighter, yet more powerful engines. It helps improve fuel economy while keeping performance. These are good things. The tech we absolutely do NOT need is tech for more uninvited nannies.

My biggest gripe is big key fobs as well. It's 2014. Why can't the fob be small?

The only technology I wish more cars had was a seat that returned to it's original position after you've tilted/slid it forward to put something in the back seat.

How expensive could that possibly be? My M3 had it, but that was one of the few cars I've been in or driven with it.
