Storing for a year
Well I'm moving to Korea for a year in April and will be keeping my car in Florida the whole time. Will prob. store in a storage unit. What steps should I take to prevent any damage from the car sitting still for a while? I was thinking about raising the car about a half an inch off the ground or just enough to take weight off the tires to protect them. Not sure what to do with the fluids and battery. Should I leave the batt in and have someone start it once a week and let it run for 10-15 min?

Gas up the car until Full and add fuel stabilizer. A full tank will have less condensation than an empty tank.
Remove the positive battery cable and tuck it away. Put tire PSI to near MAX PSI (avoids flat spotting.) Stuff a sock into the exhaust tip. And perform an oil change. Wash and wax the car. Lock the car and have fun in Korea! I would not suggest covering the car (unless it's outside), better to just come back and wash it. |

^ What he said, and also:
Put it in first gear, and don't forget to leave the hand brake down Best bet is always to store your car on tires you don't care about (steelies with cheap used tires)

Out of curiosity, he said he might raise the car off its wheels but @N1rve didn't comment on that. Is there anything wrong with this?

What N1rve said. And do not jack the thing up. Also I would highly recommend when it's the time to start it again after a year, to crank the engine with the EFI fuse removed, sometimes the oil drains down and the engine will be quite bone dry with all the oil in the sump. Cranking it for 10-15 seconds a few times, it will pump the oil with no load on the bearings.
