Anyone add rims keeping the suspension stock?

Hi there ive done my research and came to the conclusion that id like to keep my suspension stock for conservative reasons. However i do want to change rims on my car. Either Enkei Rpf1's or NTO3's.

Has anyone done this? Im leaning toward a 17x8 -40. But a 18 inch is questionable for me. I know this is contradictory, but im trying to clear up some wheel gap without lifting my car too much. I dont want anything noticeable.

Thanks in advance!

Form your post I guess you dont have much experience with wheels

First, you will have a 17x8 + 40, not -40, as that would be like 70cm out of your fender :-)
Next, if you take 17 or 18" wheel does not change anything on your wheel gap. If you take 18" wheels, you will just loose on your tireflank size. In general, you try to keep the diameter of your wheel as near to factory. You can go for higher tireflank, but it will throw your speedo of (still nothing to do if you take 17 or 18" wheels)

So on the size of the wheels, take what you like more. If you're not lowering the car you should not go for any aggressiv setup, so a 17x8 or 18x8 with 225 tires should be absolutly fine and will look good

Tires you can use the stock 215/45/17 on 17" wheels, or take 225/45/17
If you go for 18" you should take 225/40/18

You should check out the sticky if you already haven't.

And they are "wheels" not "rims".
