Annular ghosting on foggy windshield
Every time my windshield gets foggy--which is extremely often, by the way--these alien markings appear everywhere, and there are quite a few more than what is pictured.
They look like residue from the temporary emissions exemption sticker that came on the car when new (I got it from Heuberger, if that means anything). But, why in so many places? Did they really have to relocate it so many times or were there more stickers? Anyway, to the point. How do I get rid of it? I've tried IPA and Goo-Gone so far. Obviously, it's invisible unless it's foggy and I can live with them there, but I would feel much more accomplished if I could remove them

You sure it's on the inside of the window? It looks like suction cup markings from when the windshield was installed at the factory.

Definitely inside, because it's causing specific areas to not fog up with the rest of the inner windshield, implying there is some kind of molecular residue (or lack, thereof). I did entertain the possibility of it being suction cups from manufacturing but they are very randomly dispersed around the windshield, i.e. concentrated on the right side.

The only other explanation, then, is:

I really wanted to accept that conclusion, but needed a second scholarly opinion. You have validated my suspicions

Definitely suction cup marks from the factory. I still get these circular patterns after many windshield cleaning.

You could try taking it to a detailer who is comfortable with polishing windshields/glass.

I had those circular before.
But it's gone after the detailer polished the windshield as part of the opti-coat detailing process. (no, he did not apply opti-coat on glass, but still polished the glass anyway) |

The circles are from the glass being handled by suction cups either during manufacturing or installation at the factory. You could also try some lacquer thinner on a rag.
