Got rear-ended in metering light queue... no damage
No scrapes or cuts to the vinyl. Now I know the 5mph bumpers work. Didn't even get out or roll down the window, just sat there while I got out and checked it. I yelled back to him, "Lucky."
Not how I wanted to end the day though. |

Should've snapped a shot of his plate, just in case.

Glad to hear that there was no damage to you or the car. In Florida, between the wife and I, we got rear-ended 12 times since 2000. Do not miss those idiots.

Next time get his insurance, info pictures, plates and a confession/admission of guilt on video if possible. Report it to your insurance but say you don't want to file a claim.
I know that sounds like overkill esp if it's not your fault but same thing happened to my friend's uncle. The uncle said whatever, and let it go. Few months later, the other guy filed insurance claims etc. Somehow, the uncle ended up being at fault. I think English wasn't his first language so that probably factored into everything, but still you can't trust anybody these days. A similar thing happened to my girlfrien'ds dad. A scooter was lane splitting and bumped into his side view mirror. My GF's dad let it go, the other guy tried to get insurance later. Good thing they insurance didn't buy it. Better to be safe. |
