Metro PCA Autocross?

Anyone in here participate in the NY Metro Porsche Club of America's AutoX events at Tobay and the Coliseum?

I ran my decade-old Camry last year...hoping to be a little more competitive in X2 this year...

I did about 10 SCCA events last year. Had a blast with them at the Poconos new infield track. I like the PCA layouts better though. Looking forward to seeing more of us BRZ/FRS guys next year!

ive done scca a bunch of times. never pca. i herd pca was a bit snooty, they actually told a guy with a sti hes not welcome anymore.. basically cause he was beating everyones times. i guess they were a bit jelly of his car that is 50,000 less in price but faster than all the trailer queens that were there.

scca dudes are definitely cool. The guys that run the event are all hilarious and it's a good time.

The instructors are great and everyone is friendly. Just obey the rules and pay attention.

The only downside I could potentially see is that the scca events draw more really inexperienced drivers - I remember at one event last summer a guy showed up in a boss 302 and spun out multiple times on every run (yes, spun out more than once in a single 45 second run) ...so that kinda ruins it.

You're supposed to start off in Auto X, if you got a problem with noobs then go to a track day, bro.

This is kind of the point though. Unless you are trying to get the top spot and are actively competing, the whole point of autox is to learn your car and find the limits. Although spinning out multiples times on every run is not fast, at least he is doing it in a safe environment instead of the open road. To what NYCsubaruBRZ said, you get rerun anyway so no loss to you. Everyone starts somewhere and even the top guys will lose it and spin from time to time. As long as we are all having fun and learning, it's all good to me.
