Holy crap! It fits! I was always told that it wouldn't fit between the strut towers. What transmission are you planning on using?

Im using the impreza tranny welded the front diff and capped off the axle holes...alot of subaru guys do that to convert there awd to rear drive...I had to trim a little bit off the frame rails and strech out the trans tunnel but besides that it fit pretty good. I just dropped it in over the weekend...still lots to do..get a drive shaft fabbed up and wiring should be fun,,, but yah I looked all over the net and I cant find anybody else thats done it before so...kinda a shot in the dark with this but things are looking pretty good..will definately post up more pics as I go along!

I think, I have seen it before. It's not the same one, but it had 2L EJ engine. Also I have seen GC8 chassis w Rotary engine to working AWD tranny too. People have too many time & $$$ to spent on AE86.
