I'm seeing "403 Forbidden" on all the pictures in your first post.

Edit: It's working now.

I've never driven a car as fun as this. Put down a deposit and reserved my FRS this morning, then came to the stadium event to try it out. Loads of fun, I absolutely cannot wait to get it.

Also, funny thing -- my dad is also getting one. I'd been talking about the FRS/BRZ the last few times I've been to my parents' house, and he got excited enough about it through listening to me, and his own research, that he's ordered one for himself. How cool is that?

He's an old truck driver who's been driving manuals all his life, though, so he went for the automatic. I'm a young guy who's only had 2 dirt-cheap automatics in high school and college, so I'm going for the manual. I don't have too much to say, really, just very excited to get the car and was EXTREMELY happy to participate in the event today.

Thanks to the organizers and people working there, you were all great and everything went well. I took a lanyard, and will now use that to hold my id card/rsa tokens for work, haha. "Yokohama," too cool.

Now, I just need to learn to drive a standard transmission car before my FRS arrives...

Who else wishes that they had a lap timer for the course? I would have loved seeing my time get better for the second run. They could have done an award for the fastest lap.

Definitely. I was slow as hell my first lap, took about half a lap to get familiar with the car. I really wish they had let us drive more than twice. They spent half of the hour slot just talking about the car, when I imagine most of the people there already knew everything about it. I drove an hour+ for a total of about 60 seconds of drive time. It was still worth it, but could have been much better.

Edit- also, the first guy there in the Caps gear was absolutely tearing it up for our time slot (9am).

I agree totally

The group after mine barely had anyone in it. I asked if I could go again if they didn't have a good showing. They said only 2 runs per person. That cool though because I gave it hell both times. The second time I think that I would have had the record for the track. The car was on edge the whole time and I hit zero cones.

Nice. This was actually my first time A. doing an autocross course and B. driving a RWD car. The first go through I was really timid. Definitely opened it up a bit more the 2nd time. I actually said when I was waiting in line for what I hoped would be the 3rd turn that I was going to use the paddle shifters that time and keep revs pretty high, but never had the chance to.

Fun, but I bet their insurance wouldn't have liked that. Bunch of young guys trying to beat each other's times in a car they've never driven? To be honest, I'm surprised they didn't make us wear helmets like in autocross!

BTW
