Should I be worried about bad dealer reputation?

A few weeks ago I went into a Scion in north CA and told them I want to buy and FRS. The place was very small and pretty dilapidated compared to any other dealer I've been too. They took my info and the build I wanted and said they'd get back to me when they lock one down, couldn't give any indication of when that might be accept probably June. Salesman was nice enough in that typical salesman kind of way.

I've checked Yelp and Google now and they have a 2 star rating, some complaints about used sales and a absolutely terrible service department. They have a BBB rating of F! Many reviews saying the car came out worse than it went in. I'm just getting a new car and never need to go back so maybe this isn't important?

I'm wondering if I should go in closer to the Bay Area to a better reviewed dealer? Is it bad behavior to put my name in at more than one place, how should I handle this? I'd love some advice, first time purchasing a new car.

Why would you want to work with a dealer like that, they have a F they must have earned it. Your going to need service if theirs sucks why bother with them. Remember the best your going to be treated is when your paying for the car, it sounds like it will be all down hill from there.
You will be better off working with a dealer that doesn't make you question your choice.

Why not go to a more reputable dealer? Is not like you are getting a better deal with this one.

I guess I went to them because they were close. Figured maybe it wasn't so bad since it's pure pricing, buy the car and leave. I'd just get service elsewhere. I'm a little worried though so I think I will make a trip to a dealer with a better reputation, though there seems to be so few.

Only good thing about that is they probably don't have any orders so you'll be able to get the first one, lol.

The bad part is that they may mark it up since they have that reputation. Call and talk to a few guys and go with the one you feel most comfortable dealing with. There's no need to really stress out on a car when negotiation isn't part of the equation.

Waiting and being treated properly is probably a higher priority for most (unless you literally NEED the car ASAP).
