Bulletproof Concept One - Part 2. Journey to Tokyo

Hello everyone,

Following SEMA 2013, our Scion FR-S Concept One visited several private high profile events such as the Recaro 2013 party and LA auto show related events.

During this time period our friends at Option Magazine and leading global wheel manufacturer RAYS JAPAN contacted us to inquire bringing the first US demo car to exhibit at a vendor booth for annual Tokyo Auto Salon Exhibition.

As you can imagine... with less than 4 weeks until the event. It was quite a logistical masterpiece to organize all of the necessary preparations, legal documents, and show arrangements to make the event. Never the less, all plans were executed flawlessly and without a hitch.

The FR-S Concept one debuted an all new Rays|Volk Racing Wheel.. the ZE40. Although we have attended Tokyo Auto Salon supporting our partners in Japan for the past 14 years.. it is truly an honor to be invited to stand next to our heroes and some of the greatest Japanese performance innovators of all time.

Following Auto Salon the car was invited to compete at the infamous Tsukuba Circuit this past month for an Option Magazine video and "Super Tuned File" feature.

Option enlisted world famous HKS, Vertex, Yokohama Advan, Super GT, and D1GP driver Nobuteru Taniguchi to give his driving impression of the Concept One featuring the latest in high end performance by Volk Racing, Toyo Tires, Varis Aero, Runduce Suspension & Braking components, and Powerhouse Amuse.



We have a few more surprises to come... but for now... we will leave you with the latest update with our vehicle featured on SpeedHunters. The vehicle was shot by Speed Hunters senior editor Dino Carbonare shortly after the track event.

I am always amazed by this car wherever it is, magazine....online...forum....

Such a wonderful model of the 86 platform, just by the exterior alone.

The interior is a master piece with all that caging look very susceptible and yet safe, secure.

I am always looking foward to see the engine build and the dyno graph.

If BP do have a solid Bullet Proof engine build. Whether it is NA replacement or FI, BP will be the biggest vendor and tuner for the 86 platform here in the states.

You guys are trully a Picasso of the 86....well in my own opinion.

Thank you very much for your kind words. An intense amount of work has gone into this build and we are very grateful to have the opportunity to showcase this completely balanced car to you, this community, and the world. As many of the signature features of this build typically go into our GT-R builds.. it was nice to transition to one of our favorite current platforms.

As the concept of the car is to build a completely well rounded vehicle... not a race car... not a show car... but a super car. The vehicle was street driven in Japan before as well as after track events at Tsukuba. As of course.. a super car should be daily driven/tracked and maintain reliability.

All aspects of the vehicle are available to our FR-S customers,ie F/I engine, suspension/brakes, aero, custom interior (including alcantara/carbon work) tailored by customer tastes, etc... however it is pretty unusual to have a customer want to go as crazy as we did on our own car.

That being said a lot of regularly available parts from this build have been quite popular with our customers such as:

-Powerhouse Amuse Titanium Exhaust System
-Powerhouse Amuse Turbo Kit
-Varis Widebody Kit (as well as the bits and peices such as bumpers, lips, hoods and wings)
-Volk Wheels
-Crystal Eye Tail Lights

One day, when I fly into to LA, I need to stop by to check it out in person. Cuz I only hear good things about it
